Hiring: Design Engineer/UI Programmer

Terra Eclipse is looking for experienced and motivated web developers! The positions are full time and based at our HQ in Aptos, CA. We are looking for people who have ‘real world’ experience in developing custom applications.

Design Engineer/UI Programmer

This job will involve implementing in-house designs in XHTML/CSS and creating interface elements with attention to design motifs.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building web applications
  • Demonstrated mastery of standards-compliant XHTML markup and CSS layouts
  • Must be able to maintain strict consistency between all modern browsers
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with client-side scripting (JavaScript, Actionscript, etc)
  • Some experience with server-side scripting (PHP, Ruby, Perl, etc)
  • A portfolio that includes self-started personal projects

You should have

  • Ability to hand-write pages in valid XHTML 1.0 (Transitional and Strict)
  • Ability to write CSS that compliments an existing design
  • Ability to make page elements re-usable
  • Experience with version control systems such as Subversion
  • Ability to design and work towards an intuitive user experience
  • Excellent written and spoken English proficiency
  • Meticulous attention to detail, excellent self-motivation

Responsibilities

  • Work on-site with our team to take concepts and turn them into finished pages
  • Work with our support team to troubleshoot problems with websites
  • Make regular web updates: text changes, banner graphics
  • Help design, code and execute HTML emails to subscribers
  • Develop and update online demos with screenshots and animation
  • Maintain clear and active communication with the development team and report progress of assigned tasks
  • Take initiative to develop advanced and creative user experiences
