Terra Eclipse, Inc. is a nationally recognized political technology and strategy firm located in Aptos, CA. We are seeking a motivated, talented web developer and designer to join our team in providing web solutions for national political candidates, non-profit organizations and private corporations.

Drawing on a combination of graphic design skills, extensive technical development experience and a superb understanding of website functionality, the successful candidate will work with our Creative Director and Lead Designer to create the visual appearance, content layouts and final implementation of dynamic, content managed solutions for our clients.

This is a full-time position.  Annual compensation commensurate with experience plus benefits.

The position is located at the headquarters of Terra Eclipse, Inc. in Aptos, CA. No telecommuters or outsourcing firms will be considered or receive a response. 

Applicants must be willing to cease related freelance and contract work during employment.

You must submit samples of previous graphic design and coding/development work to be considered for this position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Produce and develop web content for both external (client) and internal Terra Eclipse projects

• Consummately create professional graphic design for web sites, logos, client branding and additional general needs

• Efficiently translate finalized design elements and content structures into pixel-perfect XHTML/ CSS mark up and template files

• Manage time and workloads to balance multiple projects simultaneously

• Under supervision of Terra Eclipse Creative Director, Lead Designer and project managers, fulfill all project requirements with short deadlines for completion

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience with graphic design, layout, color theory and typography for the web

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience with hand-coded web development (collaborative experience is preferred)

• Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (experience with complete Adobe Creative Suite is preferred)

• Expert knowledge of XHTML/CSS, JavaScript and JQuery

• Experience translating Adobe Photoshop website design concepts and wireframes into flexible and usable code templates

• Strong working knowledge of cross platform/browser compatible code development (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome, Mobile Browsers, etc.) for dynamic web applications

• Knowledge of accessibility concerns, common cross-browser issue workarounds and image format optimization

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Preferred 1+ year of experience utilizing PHP (LAMP)

• Preferred 3 months experience with Drupal module development

• Working knowledge of Content Management System implementations

• Ability to troubleshoot and debug code written personally or by a larger team

Portfolio Requirements:

• 1–3 Photoshop documents or comparable examples of finalized website design

• 1–2 active URLs or source code document sets for sites you have coded/implemented
